Taking a Stand Against Silence

Send Silence Packing, a traveling public-education display designed to encourage an open dialogue about mental health, visited Franklin & Marshall College’s Hartman Green on Tuesday, April 3. The display included more than 1,100 backpacks scattered across the lawn, representing the number of college students who died by suicide in the United States last year. The F&M chapter of Active Minds and the Office of Counseling Services coordinated the installation with the help of a $5,000 donation to the College in memory of former F&M student Matt Carr ’10.
